Ingredients

  • 4 x Tomatoes
  • Celery (100 grams)
  • Potatoes (200 grams)
  • 1 x Beef Stock Cube
  • Water (100 ml)
  • Basil (1 cap)
  • Tomato Puree (15 grams)
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Other Things You Will Need

  • Saucepan
  • Knife
  • Chopping Board
  • Kettle
  • Electric Hand Blender Or Liquidiser (Food Processor)
  • Kitchen Ladle
  • Food Scales

Before You Start Cooking

  • Wash hands for 20 seconds using soap and water
  • Place all ingredients and other things you will need on the kitchen worktop
  • Weigh or measure ingredients as required
  • Peel and wash the potatoes and cut into half
  • Wash and randomly cut the celery
  • Wash the tomato's and remove the core using a knife
  • Boil a kettle of water

Method

  • Place a saucepan on the hob with maximum heat
  • Put the Tomato's in a pan of boiling water
  • Add the celery
  • Add the potato
  • Bring to the boil, continue to boil for 10-15 minutes until the potatoes are soft
  • Add the stock cube
  • Use the hand blender to liquidise all of the mixture in the pan or move all of the ingredients from the pan, using a kitchen ladle, to a food liquidiser. Blitz for around 1 minute on high speed (if possible).  Once blitzed return the liquid to the pan
  • Stir the soup on the pan while returning it to the boil
  • Add the basil to the soup
  • Once boiling add the pan lid and reduce heat to simmer on medium heat for around 20 minutes
  • Add salt and pepper to taste
  • Serve

Notes

  • The Basil Spice should be 1 cap full rather than 10 grams as shown in the video
  • If you don't like celery then use brown onion instead
