Escaping Diabetes Type 2 – A Personal Experience Diary
Escaping Diabetes Type 2 - A Personal Experience
During 2009 into 2010, I was asked by a few friends and work colleagues if I could share tips on how to lose weight. They was aware of my personal circumstances that the NHS wanted to perform stomach surgery and the NHS also showed concern that my blood sugar was high. Friends and colleagues knew I was using habits from my We Can’t Spell Success Without You PowerPlan idea to avoid these medical issues in 2010. They also noticed that I was starting to reduce weight considerably at that time. I agreed to share some of the habits from my book and had a small control group of 6 people to trial my We Can’t Spell Success Without You PowerPlan ideas.
A few months later the NHS stated that I have not only lost a lot of weight but also improved my blood cultures dramatically. I was told that I had escaped the stomach surgery and inspired me to write the We Can’t Spell Success Without You PowerPlan book with a view of sharing these ideas to benefit others. Meanwhile, my control group of 5 people, after one dropped out, reported that they all were behaving strangely, having excess energy, increase sex drive and generally found it hard to relax. I suddenly realised that they were all suffering from diabetes type 2. This was a condition that I knew nothing about, my focus was on healthy weight loss so I asked them all to contact their doctor and have a follow-up diabetes test. The test results showed that all had vastly improved their diabetes type 2 condition and, over a matter of months, was taking reduced medication.
6th November 2017, this is a day that I will never forget as I had a doctors appointment for my blood results, I was greeted with the news that I was suffering from diabetes type 2. That night I was simply in denial and even went out to a restaurant the following day with a friend. I told him the news and he simply said that I would be alright and that I have always been a fighter.
That evening I was dismayed and was wondering what to do. It so happened that I had a draft copy of the We Can’t Spell Success Without You PowerPlan book at the side of me. My only thought was "it worked for the control group so I need to have confidence that it will work for me". This time is seemed to be my turn to escape the diabetes type 2 condition.
The following month provided an interesting reaction from the NHS as they decided to take a second blood test. This test showed a massive improvement with the diabetes type 2 condition, this was dismissed by the NHS and requested a further blood test 8 week's later.
Eight week's later, and a return to the “Lab” for further blood tests where I was more than nervous. This was followed by a very long week waiting for the test results to see if my condition had improved. My heart goes out to all of the millions of people who are regularly tested for diabetes type 2 who are simply hoping and praying for an improved blood result, rather than continuously worrying of how this disease will affect their body and lifestyle over time. Even looking at the following video it is difficult to even hold the camera still with a view of starting the diabetic medication and wondering how this condition could impact my future life.
Weirdly, the blood test results were subject to a major delay and I had to contact the doctor's on numerous occasions before I finally had the opportunity to receive my result. I decided to use this time to contact the control group, as I had asked them to provide a letter from their doctor's to confirm they had escaped from the diabetes type 2 condition. All of them had requested a NHS letter from their doctor and none of them had received one, even many years later. It seems that the escape from diabetes type 2 that is achieved by following the 17 habits had now become a closely guarded secret.
After gaining this knowledge, I decided to continue secretly recording conversations with NHS staff as proof of what was happening with my diagnosis. This would provide a record if the diabetes type 2 condition was improving as it looked very unlikely I would receive any written evidence from the NHS. I also made these recordings due to so much information being provided in a 5 minutes doctors appointment. The information given by the doctor is difficult to process when it relates to your personal health.
Eventually, I did receive the result showing that my diabetes type 2 blood reading had returned to a normal level despite that I was still clinically obese. The NHS initial response was to escape the diabetes type 2 condition in 15 week's was amazing, but they cast doubt on the actual result as shown in the following video.
A year later and it was time for another diabetes type 2 test, I had every confidence that the 17 Habits from my We Can’t Spell Success Without You PowerPlan book would provide an excellent result. I can’t help to feel apprehensive again about the test due to the idea that I am in the diabetic range. This would mean once again facing the possibility of blindness, loss of a limb, a diabetic coma or general ill health and a possibility of death. Using the PowerPlan habits is a risk, rather than using conventional diets or diabetes type 2 medication including insulin. But this is a risk that I was willing to take.
Rather strangely I had to contact the doctor surgery several times asking for the diabetes type 2 blood test. It almost seemed that they were reluctant to do a follow up annual test. However, I attended the doctors surgery and asked the receptionist to organise the test, she did, as I requested each of the tests that needed to be done, including LIPID and HbA1C (diabetes type 2 blood test).
A letter from the NHS finally arrived, one year later, I expected it to be the notification that my diabetes had reversed. Instead, a letter for diabetic eye appointment to join my collection of letters for diabetic foot examination.
Since my last test, over a year ago, I made the conscious decision to keep my weight in the clinically obese zone by not dropping below 18 stone 7 or 259 pounds. If there was a deliberate weight drop then any normal diabetes test result would be explained by weight loss, rather than using the We Can’t Spell Success Without You PowerPlan book.
I always find the most worrying time is waiting for the blood results from the lab. Along with letters from the NHS repeatedly asking me to attend appointments to check my feet and eyes. It was agreed that I would stay on the diabetic register voluntarily to ensure a second-year test but I didn’t expect the repeated letter response. During this time I continued to keep my weight high, around the 18 stone 10 or 262 pounds, so weight loss cannot be used for any normal readings on the blood result. The only way I could escape the diabetes type 2 condition is by using the habits from my We Can’t Spell Success Without You PowerPlan book.
The day of the test result arrived showing a normal reading, but it was the same as the previous year's result. I was surprised when the doctor explained that this result was excellent as it shows the levels are stable, the doctor confirmed that this is much better than a lower or fluctuating result. The follow-up visit with the nurse also resulted in an agreement that I am diabetes free for a second year. She also sent a request to the NHS information technology department to remove the diabetes type 2 flag from my medical record, as the computer still refused when the nurse or doctor tried. I asked for a letter of prove confirming that I was now diabetes type 2 free, she agreed to ask the doctor as I am entitled to such documentation.
By the end of the second year, as indicated in the video, I was ready to start recording the proper week's weight loss videos showing how body weight can be reduced quickly over 5 week's. This abruptly came to an end when the NHS responded by saying having an all clear blood result for diabetes type 2 for two years is an excellent achievement. However, if you gain the 3rd year all clear test result then this would be really something special and will spike further interest.
Then it came, in 2020, the coronavirus pandemic or more commonly known as COVID-19, that resulted in a full national lockdown. This made it almost impossible to do my full daily exercise , due to suffering from spinal DDD, as only one exercise session was allowed and was restricted to one hour. People, including myself, were worried and needed comfort so turned to food and alcohol to make themselves feel better in a bad situation. This simply resulted in increasing body weight, in my case up to 19 stone 2 pounds or 268 pounds. This provided an additional worry, what if the diabetes type 2 would flair up and be out of control?
Gaining the result of another normal reading, a 3rd-year escape from the diabetes type 2 condition that seemed impossible to achieve given the global circumstances of the world. The 17 habits really did prove themselves to be a fail-safe method of controlling diabetes type 2 and, based on the full blood test results, improve personal health even throughout a global pandemic.
Due to COVID-19, I have serious concerns that diabetic tests will be restricted to an age group or used as a monitor for people suffering from the condition in the future. This would mean that the test is not freely given out on request during the year due to the government being financially restricted. Equally proving that the We Can’t Spell Success Without You PowerPlan book can control diabetes type 2 beyond the 5th year feels difficult to achieve due to possible NHS restrictions. In fairness entering my 4th diabetic free year feels like the natural conclusion when proving that the 17 habits work to control the diabetes type 2 condition, and continue to improve long term health unlike commercial or traditional diets.
My only disappointment is that the original control group and myself didn’t receive a letter from the NHS confirming that the diabetes type 2 condition was normal, stable and controlled. Instead, the only letters received was to state that our diabetes type 2 blood readings shows that we could be at high risk of diabetes type 2 and to make an appointment with the health prevention team to discuss further. The fact that the condition was completely reverse seems to be ignored!!!
Moving forward, my personal view is that it is now time to no longer keep my personal weight high to prove the 17 habits provides an escape from diabetes, but use the We Can’t Spell Success Without You PowerPlan book for what it was written and intended for…… Weight loss!
