Here, we'll show you the steps to cooking the perfect steak that is delicate, soft and juicy, tender goodness for your family and friends to enjoy!


Ingredients



  • 1 x Sirloin Steak (185 grams)
  • Butter for Frying (7 grams)
  • Butter for Tenderising and Taste (4 grams)
  • Pinch of Salt
  • Pinch of Pepper

Other Things You Will Need



  • Frying pan
  • Small Plate
  • Meat Tenderiser
  • Kitchen Tongs or Fork
  • Kitchen Foil
  • Knife
  • Baking Tray
  • Food Scales

Before You Start Cooking



  • Defrost Steak for 12 hours in the fridge until thawed or use a microwave on defrost setting for 6 minutes
  • Wash hands for 20 seconds using soap and water
  • Place all ingredients and other things you will need on the kitchen worktop
  • Weigh or measure ingredients as required
  • Preheat the Oven using Gas Mark 6 / 200 degrees C / 400 degrees F
  • Cut a small sheet of kitchen foil (shiny side up)

Method



  • Set hob to medium heat
  • Place the frying pan on the hob
  • Add the 7 grams of butter and slowly melt
  • Once melted add the steak to the frying pan
  • Sprinkle a pinch of salt and pepper over the steak
  • Gently beat the entire steak with a meat tenderiser for a few seconds
  • Turn the hob heat to maximum and fry on one side for 5 minutes, moving occasionally
  • Turn the steak over and fry for a further 5 minutes, moving occasionally
  • Move the steak from the pan to the sheet of kitchen foil using kitchen tongs or a fork
  • Place 4 grams of butter on top of the steak using a teaspoon
  • Add a pinch of salt and black pepper
  • Seal the kitchen foil creating a small parcel containing the steak
  • Cook in the oven for 15 minutes
  • Remove the steak from the foil and carefully place on a bowl or plate
  • Pour the sauce from the foil over the steak
  • Serve

Notes



  • This method works with all cuts of steak
  • During the second 5 minutes of frying feel free to use a knife and fork to remove any excess white fat as shown in the video
  • Serve with chips or eat bread with the dish for weight gain
  • Eat only the meat or serve with a salad for weight loss
  • Nutrition shown is for the steak, jacket potato and peppercorn sauce is excluded
