Before You Start Cooking
- Wash hands for 20 seconds using soap and water
- Place all ingredients and other things you will need on the kitchen worktop
- Weigh all ingredients as this is crucial to the recipe
Method
- Pour milk in a jug and add the butter
- Put the jug in the microwave for exactly 2 minutes until the butter starts to melt
- Stir the milk mixture with a fork and pour into the bread tin from the bread maker
- Add the flour to the milk mixture
- Add the salt, sugar, yeast and baking powder to the bread tin on top of the flour (keeping it away from the warm milk mixture)
- Set the bread maker to setting 8, always 3:05 hours when cooking the loaf (some bread makers could have a different setting number but the cooking time is always the same)
- Place the bread tin in the bread maker with all of its contents and press start.
- After 3 hours and 5 minutes the bread maker will ping (ignore it) as it will continue to brown the loaf for another 45-60 minutes.
- When you hear a second ping the bread is ready, carefully remove the hot bread tin from the bread maker and place upside down on a chopping board or the kitchen worktop
- Firmly shake the bread tin to release the loaf
- Scoop any excess bread from the bottom of the tin and use it to fill any gaps on the bottom of the loaf as the bread maker will create a small indent
- Turn the bread over and cut as required
- Serve and Enjoy!
Notes
- This makes a 750 Gram loaf of bread that is very close to the supermarket 800 Gram loaf. This will fill you up much better and does not contain any chemicals or preservative that is used to ensure a long shelf life in the supermarkets!
- Always weight the milk in grams rather than measuring in millilitres(ml)
