Ingredients


 

  • Cous Cous (80 grams)
  • Boiling Water (160 grams or ml)
  • Salt, Pepper and Coriander to Taste

 

Other Things You Will Need


 

  • Mixing Bowl
  • 3 x large cups or a Jug
  • Tea Towel
  • Fork
  • Food Scales
  • Kettle

 

Before You Start Cooking


 

  • Wash hands for 20 seconds using soap and water
  • Place all ingredients and other things you will need on the kitchen worktop
  • Weigh or measure ingredients as required
  • Boil a kettle of water

 

Method


 

  • Use cups where 1 contains cous cous and the other 2 contains the same level of boiling water
  • Empty the cup containing the cous cous in a mixing bowl and add the Coriander
  • Next add the two cups of boiling water
  • Cover the mixing bowl with a kitchen tea towel
  • Leave standing for 10 minutes
  • Uncover and stir with a fork
  • Serve

 

Notes


 

  • This is a great alternative to rice when in a hurry or not confidant when cooking rice
  • Check brand versus brand to purchase the correct type of cous cous for your health needs
  • Never think of cous cous as being an healthier alternative to rice where you can lose weight or improve you diabetes type 2 condition
  • Feel free to add spices, fruit zest or fruit juice to the cous cous in the mixing bowl and stir before adding the boiling water
  • Instead of using 3 cups you can simply put the cous cous in the bowl then add the boiling water (always 2:1 water to cous cous)
