Ingredients
- 1 x Tin of Tomatoes (400 grams)
- Garlic Granules (1 cap)
Other Things You Will Need
- Saucepan
- Wooden Spoon
- Teaspoon
- Electric Hand Blender or Liquidiser (Food Processor)
- Can Opener
- Small Storage Container
Before You Start Cooking
- Wash hands for 20 seconds using soap and water
- Place all ingredients and other things you will need on the kitchen worktop
- Weigh or measure ingredients as required
- Open the tin of tomatoes
- Sterilise a small storage container
Method
- Put the tin of tomatoes in the liquidiser
- Add the garlic granules
- Blitz for 20 seconds or until a liquid
- Place a pan on the hob using maximum heat
- Pour in the tomatoes and garlic from the liquidiser
- Rinse the liquidiser with a little water and add to the pan (waste not, want not)
- Stir and bring to the boil
- Allow to boil for 8 minutes to reduce the sauce into a puree
- Give a quick stir and place the lid on the pan to avoid splattering
- Leave for a further 2 minutes
- Turn the heat off and let the puree cool
- Remove the puree from the pan using a wooden spoon and pour into the small storage container
- Place the small storage container in the refrigerator and store for up to 2 weeks
Notes
- Fantastic when making your homemade pizza or other dishes that use tomato purée
- If you don’t have a Liquidiser or food processor then blitz the garlic and tomatoes while in the pan using an electric hand blender
- The nutritional information varies from the video as a better tin of tomatoes was used that was lower in calories and price
