Method
- Open the tin of tomatoes using pull ring or can opener

- Empty the tin of tomatoes in the pan
- Fill the empty can with water and add to the tomatoes in the pan
- Add the garlic granules and the BBQ seasoning and give a good stir
- Place lid on the pan and bring to the boil
- Keep boiling for 10 minutes allowing the sauce to reduce by half becoming thicker, stir occasionally while cooking
- Place on low heat, taste and add salt if a little bland
- Turn the heat off and let the sauce cool for a few minutes
- Use a hand mixer to remove the lumps from the sauce OR put the sauce into a liquidiser and blitz for 20 seconds
- Pour the sauce into a sealable storage jar and store in the fridge for up to two weeks
- Alternatively use the sauce immediately by adding it to your favourite dish
Notes
- If you like a chunky sauce then do not liquidise the sauce, instead simply to pour from the pan into the storage container
- If you don’t have a liquidiser or food processor and need a liquid style sauce then blitz the garlic and tomatoes while in the pan using an electric hand blender
- If the sauce is too spicy then add a teaspoon of Greek Yogurt, next time you make this sauce only use half a cap of the BBQ seasoning
