1 Weigh out some spaghetti using kitchen scales and a cereal bowl, around 50 grams of pasta is great for 1 person 2 Boil a kettle of water 3 Place the uncooked spaghetti in a pan with a good pinch of salt 4 Set the hob to maximum, place the pan containing the spaghetti on the hob 5 Add the boiling water 6 Keep boiling until you see bubbles form on top of the water 7 Turn the hob off and leave the spaghetti for up to 30 minutes where it will slowly cook without using energy 8 When you are ready to serve the food, bring the spaghetti back to the boil using maximum hob heat 9 When it starts to boil, turn off the hob, use a slotted spoon style spatula, or drain the spaghetti , and serve
This is a great way of cooking spaghetti ensuring that it does not stick, burn or boil over.
Traditionally, you would use the cooker hob for 7-15 minutes when cooking spaghetti , the hob time is reduced to 2-3 minutes using this method saving you energy and reducing your fuel bill.
