Ingredients


 

  • 1 x Medium Egg
  • 1 x Butter (7 grams)
  • 1 x Tablespoon of Water (15ml)
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste

 

Other Things You Will Need


 

  • Frying pan
  • Spatula
  • Tablespoon
  • Food scales

 

Before You Start Cooking


 

  • Wash hands for 20 seconds using soap and water
  • Place all ingredients and other things you will need on the kitchen worktop
  • Weigh or measure ingredients as required

 

Method


 

  • Place a frying pan on the hob using a low heat
  • Put the butter in the pan until it melts (use pan lid if you have one)
  • When butter is melted, add the water to the pan and mix with the butter
  • Move the mixture around the pan until evenly coated
  • Crack the Egg and place in the pan removing any eggshell, place a lid on top of the frying pan if you have one
  • Increase hob heat to medium
  • After 2 minutes remove the lid and use a spatula to ensure the egg is not sticking to the pan
  • Put the lid back on the pan and cook for a further 2 minutes or until the top of egg feels firm (no visible slime)
  • Remove the egg from the frying pan to a plate using the spatula
  • Add salt and pepper to taste
  • Serve

 

Notes


 

  • If you don't have a frying pan lid then any other pan lid will do as it is OK to rest it on top of the frying pan
  • Any type of egg can be used including barn, free-range and enriched omega 3 eggs, but make sure that they are fresh
