Ingredients
- 1 x Medium Egg
- 1 x Butter (7 grams)
- 1 x Tablespoon of Water (15ml)
- Salt and Pepper to Taste
Other Things You Will Need
- Frying pan
- Spatula
- Tablespoon
- Food scales
Before You Start Cooking
- Wash hands for 20 seconds using soap and water
- Place all ingredients and other things you will need on the kitchen worktop
- Weigh or measure ingredients as required
Method
- Place a frying pan on the hob using a low heat
- Put the butter in the pan until it melts (use pan lid if you have one)
- When butter is melted, add the water to the pan and mix with the butter
- Move the mixture around the pan until evenly coated
- Crack the Egg and place in the pan removing any eggshell, place a lid on top of the frying pan if you have one
- Increase hob heat to medium
- After 2 minutes remove the lid and use a spatula to ensure the egg is not sticking to the pan
- Put the lid back on the pan and cook for a further 2 minutes or until the top of egg feels firm (no visible slime)
- Remove the egg from the frying pan to a plate using the spatula
- Add salt and pepper to taste
- Serve
Notes
- If you don't have a frying pan lid then any other pan lid will do as it is OK to rest it on top of the frying pan
- Any type of egg can be used including barn, free-range and enriched omega 3 eggs, but make sure that they are fresh
