Ingredients

  • 1 x Medium Egg
  • 1 x Butter (7 grams)
  • Salt and Pepper to Taste

Other Things You Will Need

  • Frying pan
  • Spatula
  • Food scales

Before You Start Cooking

  • Wash hands for 20 seconds using soap and water
  • Place all ingredients and other things you will need on the kitchen worktop
  • Weigh or measure ingredients as required

Method

  • Place a frying pan on the hob using a low heat
  • Put the butter in the pan until it melts (use pan lid if you have one)
  • When butter is melted, spread around the pan evenly
  • Crack the Egg and place in the pan removing any eggshell, place a lid on top of the frying pan
  • Cook for 4 minutes or until the top of the egg feels firm (no visible slime)
  • Remove the egg from the frying pan to a plate using the Spatula
  • Add salt and pepper to taste
  • Serve

Notes

  • If you don't have a frying pan lid then any other pan lid will do as it is OK to rest it on top of the pan
  • The video shows 20 grams of butter being used due to the old frying pan.  A standard 7 grams of butter is enough to coat the surface of the pan when frying
  • Any type of egg can be used including barn, free-range and enriched omega 3 eggs, but make sure that they are fresh
