Ingredients
- Courgette (326 grams that will reduce to 146 grams after spiralisation)
- Water (1 pan full)
- Salt to Tenderise
Other Things You Will Need
- Spiraliser
- Saucepan with a lid
- Knife
- Fork
- Colander
- Kettle
- Food Scales
Before You Start Cooking
- Wash hands for 20 seconds using soap and water
- Place all ingredients and other things you will need on the kitchen worktop
- Weigh or measure ingredients as required
- Wash the courgette
- Boil a kettle of water
Method
- Cut off each end of the courgette
- Use the spiraliser to make it into strips, this process will reduce the courgette to around 146 grams
- Turn on the hob and set to maximum heat
- Place a pan on the hob and fill with boiling water from the kettle
- Add the courgette to the pan giving a stir with a fork
- Add a pinch of salt to help the courgette to tenderise and keep boiling
- After boiling for 5 minutes use a fork to ensure the courgette is tender and looks like the traditional spaghetti shape
- Turn off the heat and let it cool for 1 minute
- Drain the excess water using a colander
- Place the courgette spaghetti on a plate and separate using a fork
- It is now ready to eat or add to your favourite dish replacing traditional spaghetti!
Notes
- For a crunch style spaghetti then boil for 3 minutes, for really soft Spaghetti boil for 5 minutes
