Back In The Kitchen - The Healthiest Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato (BLT) Sandwich - Recipe Sheet



Bacon, Lettuce, and Tomato (BLT) Sandwich - Crispy, Crunchy, and Irresistibly Fresh!

Our BLT Sandwich is a classic masterpiece of culinary simplicity. Crispy bacon, fresh lettuce, and ripe tomatoes come together in a symphony of Flavors and textures. The smoky, Savory bacon meets the refreshing crunch of lettuce and the juicy sweetness of tomatoes, all nestled between slices of soft, toasted bread. It's a timeless combination that never goes out of style.


Ingredients



  • 3 x Unsmoked Lean Bacon Medallions
  • 2 x Slices of Bread
  • Shredded Iceberg Lettuce (80 grams)
  • 5 x Cherry Tomatoes (45 grams)
  • Low Calorie Butter (8 grams)
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Other Things You Will Need



  • Microwave
  • 2 x large bowls
  • 1 x large plate
  • Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Food Scales

Before You Start Cooking



  • Defrost Bacon for 12 hours in the fridge until thawed or use a microwave on defrost setting for 4 minutes
  • Wash hands for 20 seconds using soap and water
  • Place all ingredients and other things you will need on the kitchen worktop
  • Weigh or measure ingredients as required

Method



  • Wash and shred the iceberg lettuce with a knife
  • Wash and slice the tomatoes
  • Prepare our cooking contraption by placing the first bowl upside down on a plate
  • Place the bacon over the upturned bowl
  • Place the second bowl, also upside down, on the first bowl to hold the bacon in place
  • Put the contraption in the microwave and cook for 5 minutes using maximum power
  • Remove the contraption from microwave
  • Carefully remove the upper bowl to reveal the cooked bacon
  • Leave for 2 minutes to cool down and allow the bacon to relax
  • While the bacon is cooling butter the two slices of bread
  • Place some of the iceberg lettuce on the first slice of bread with a couple of tomatoes
  • Add the bacon to the sandwich
  • Add the rest of the lettuce and tomatoes to the sandwich and place the second slice of bread on top
  • Leave for around 1 minute to allow the butter on the bread to melt to coat the lettuce and tomatoes
  • Cut the sandwich into 2 (diagonally if you like the bread in two triangles), add salt and pepper to taste if required
  • Serve

Notes



  • Take care when removing the bacon from the cooking contraption as it will be very hot
  • Tip away all excess fat from the bacon that is stored on the large plate once cooled to avoid burning yourself
